  • Nigeria is the most populated country in Africa. But many people are poor because of its high population.
  • Offical language is english.
  • 50% of Nigerians are Muslims and 40% are Christian. Often both religions combine their faiths with traditional beliefs.
  • the Yoruba people are famous in Nigeria for their wood carvings. Most ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍Nigerian‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍ art is sculptures. They inspire western artists.
  • ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍Some areas in Nigeria have a lot of oil problems like pipe explosions so the wild life gets destroyed.
  • ‍‍‍‍‍Some Nigerians create haunting rhythms with kalangu drums and rattles. it sounds kind of like a mix between rock music and juju.
  • younger people dress in a western style and dance in night clubs.
  • nigerians believe in gods.
  • Their celebrations include masked dancers. Their most celebrated holiday is the Harvest Celebration.
  • If oil pipes in Nigeria leak and get into farmland, the crops can get poisoned.

  • people wear rags or cloth on their heads to protect themselves from the hot sun.
  • people live near some kind of water source no matter how small to adapt to the environment.

  • sometimes oil pipes will explode or light on fire and destroy some of the environment in sourounding areas.
  • when there is oil wars (fights over oil wells) on boats and sometimes the oil barrels explode and destroy the water source so they have to move somewhere else.

Human Enviroment Interaction-Environmental problems due to people changing the environment
  • oil polution kills fish so Nigerians can't eat them.
  • animals are losing their homes due to desertification so the nigerians can't sell them for money to survive.‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍

Movement
  • To get around they use boats.
  • To get around towns they use mostly trains and also a lot of walking.

Products
  • Nigeria has lots of products, such as oil, cocoa, peanuts, palm oil, cooking oil, yams, cassava, corn, petroleum, limestone, marble, and tin.
  • Nigeria is running low on tin because of over mining the metal.
  • Even though it has so many products, Nigeria is still very poor.
  • Nigeria is restricted to exporting only two products, like all of the other countrys in Africa.

  • It is 10 degrees north latitude.
  • It is 10 degees east longitude.
  • Nigeria is in the northern and eastern hemispheres.
  • Nigeria is bordered by Benin, Niger, and Cameroon.
